Cuento del bordado
They say that in a courtyard in Pátzcuaro, a vine grew that only bloomed during the week of the dead. An embroiderer copied it flower by flower, from the shoulders to the center of the chest, in cempasúchil orange, papel picado pink, and velvet magenta.
So that the flowers would not escape, she closed the neckline, armholes, and hem with a navy blue zigzag, like a garden fence. The story goes that every November the blouse smells of flowers again.
